[Thinkpad] Update on OK, not a Thinkpad issue, but bear with me... Any ideas?

Yes, thanks, these are the two records that a google search returns.
I've run the traps on the Symantec/PM8.0 with no joy (presuming the fix
to be same as with PM6.0; who knows?) and following the second link,
have run CHKDSK /R with similar results. Now working on a Symantec
Rescue Disk/Disk Doctor recovery. Results TBA.
Thanks again for your pointers.
