[Thinkpad] Update on OK, not a Thinkpad issue, but bear with me... Any ideas?

Well, booting to PartitionMagic 6.0 tells me "partition improperly 
dismounted", the option to "fix" is grayed out, does not suggest another 
remedy, and Symantec has taken down all the old online links to PM6 
documentation.
