[Thinkpad] OK, not a Thinkpad issue, but bear with me... Any ideas?

Yes, in the sense that I ran thru various Restore Console display 
options - MAP, PARTINFO, TYPE c:\BOOT.INI, CHKDSK /P and the like - but 
no, nothing that would smoke a PS.

Would you place the Win2K system file Restore in that category?  
Partition Magic 6 boot disk?  If not, what as examples?
