[Thinkpad] upgrading ThinkPad T61p with non-Lenovo RAM and HDD

Thank you for the reply!

I actually have an MSDN subscription in addition to the retail boxed products,
so the software licenses are not an issue.  The retail boxed products have been
gathering dust, so I'm going to cut their seals, figure out how to slide the
packaging open and install from the discs.

All of the drivers and software for the system will be downloaded and burned to
a CD or DVD or USB flash drive so they will be ready for installation once the
operating system has finished loading.
