[Thinkpad] T40: no place to enter bios supervisor password

Hi All,

I have a strange problem with my T40 (type 2373-42G) : At some point I 
played around and enabled/entered a bios supervisor password. I know 
this password. But when I enter the Bios Settings (from the predesktop 
area) there is no place to enter the password. I understand that I 
should be queried for this password when entering the bios setup, but 
that doesnt happen. So I basically can not change any bios settings 
anymore.

I had updated bios (and Embedded Controller Program) to the latest 
versions, when I enabled the bios password (like a few months ago). When 
I lately updated to a new BIOS version I had to enter the supervisor 
password and update worked fine. But still I am not asked at any point 
to enter the password, nor do I find a place to enter it.

Any hints would be very much appreciated.
