[Thinkpad] Flash (SD) as backup?

Beware of "cheap".  It often costs far more than expensive.

If this computer has data of any value on it, a USB cd/dvde drive
is the way to go.  Media costs about 25 cents each, and can be
taken away somewhere far away from the system itself.

Flash is easier in the sense that you can stuff it in a purse or
backpack -- and then lose it. ;-)
