[Thinkpad] OEM notebook manufacturers

My head is spinning.

ThinkPads come from a Chinese company headquartered in the US and run by
Americans, they're designed in Japan, with components made in China, the US,
Japan, and who knows where else.

But what decides whether they're OK for government use is where the *final
assembly* is done?

I think I need a drink.
