[Thinkpad] T42 Palmrest Crack

I saw some T42 palmrest parts for around $20 shipped. I think its fairly easy to replace.

T42 palmrest cracked from below the touchpad buttons to the front edge of
the case.

The T42 is out of warranty.  Is this a problem worth fixing?

If so, what's the best way to go about it?
