[Thinkpad] HD Recommendation -- Hitachi TravelStar?

I've been spinning the 120gb version of the Samsung Spinpoint M series in
this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817155704 external
enclosure for about a year now for backups and random storage. It's
attached all the time (yea, I should probably consider swapping it with my
CD drive since I use it much more often).

It's been flawless so far and seems to be very happy attached via a single
USB cable (just one plug of the double usb cable the enclosure comes with)
and being randomly shut down or unplugged.

Though checking out prices on Newegg depressed me as I found I could now get
a 200gb for less than I paid for my 120 less than a year ago. But that's
the way it goes, eh?

Tim

(oh, and that one comment on Newegg about the enclosure color being dark
green instead of black, I've got no idea what that's about. The one I'm
looking at is as black as my Thinkpad and my soul... :)

Does it have to be 7200rpm? If I had a budget of around $80 I'd rather
spend it on a higher capacity 5400rpm drive. You'll get more gigabytes per
dollar, and for most purposes it would be practically equivalent in
performance.

Here's a page of ATA drives from Newegg.com that are all 80GB or greater,
and most of them are equal to or lower than your budget.
