[Thinkpad] Hitachi drive difference?

Hm, I actually have one here: 5400RPM 40.0GB MK4019GAX that I thought
failed.  The bearing was making a a horrible noise... now it seems to be
spinning fine.  Do hard drives fix themselves? =)
