[Thinkpad] External USB drive enclosers for older TP HDD's

Hello,

I have had good results using both the original IOGear's ION 2.5" hard disk
drive enclosure (which has both USB 2.0 and FireWire interfaces) and
MacAlly's PHR250CC 2.5" hard disk drive enclosure (also USB 2.0 and
FireWire).  I have
used both devices to hold the original hard disk drives from my T23 and T43p,
as well as 2.5" hard disk drives from Fujitsu and Toshiba without problem under
Microsoft Windows 2000 and Windows XP. For FireWire (my T23 only has USB 1.1
built-in) I use IBM's IEEE-1394 CardBus card.

CoolDrives has a number of interesting-looking enclosures at

   <http://www.cooldrives.com/25usbfircas.html>

but I have not used one from them before.

Regards
