Here is a description of the various causes of beeps:
Alarm
Power Control Beep [Enabled] is default, Disabled is an option. This option
enables the beep to sound when the system enters suspend mode, the system
resumes from suspend mode, the system enters hibernation mode, the system
resumes from hibernation mode, the AC adapter is connected or disconnected.
Low Battery Alarm [Enabled] is default, Disabled is an option. Select
[Enable] to use the low battery alarm. Select [Disable] if you don't want
the low battery alarm beep. The status indicator, however, still works when
the battery becomes low.
Volume Beep [Disabled] is default, Enabled is an option. This option enables
the beep to sound when you change the sound volume by pressing the Volume
up/Volume down keys.
Password Beep [Disabled] is default, Enabled is an option. Enable this
option to have a beep sound when the system is waiting for a power-on, hard
disk, or supervisor password. Different beeps will be sounded when the
entered password matches or does not match the configured password.
