was doing this right up until I upgraded from Windows XP Pro SP 1 to SP2.
I've checked BIOS and Control Panel | Power Options | Advanced. I also
checked Access Thinkpad | Tools | Battery Maximizer. All of the
settings seem to indicate that it should hibernate when the lid closes.
Yet when I close the lid, the LCD remains LIT and the computer doesn't
do anything differently.
Again, the ONLY change between when it worked and now is that I upgraded
from SP1 to SP2.
My two guesses are that either the sensor that can tell when the lid is
open vs closed has physically broken at the same time that SP2 was loaded
or SP2 broke something in software that looks for the lid-closed sensor.
Any suggestions? Is there a way I can test if the lid-closed sensor is
working or not? Please help. I can't stand being without hibernation.
