[Thinkpad] R51 guts into R31 shell?

Those with more intimate knowledge of hardware compatibilities
will be able to answer your question, but it seems to me that
you might get away with acquiring a dock for your R31 (charging
port would be that on the dock), and a new or used keyboard for
your R51 (Lenovo will do it for free if it is still under
warranty). Then you'd have two working Thinkpads, instead of
one or zero.

>Here's my predicament. I have a non-working Thinkpad R31. It doesn't
>work because the charging port is busted so I can't ever run it on
>anything but the battery. I also have a Thinkpad R51, however the
>keyboard on it is going. The space bar is already pretty much useless
>in that I have to pound it to get a space to actually appear. I fear
>other keys are not far behind. I'm wondering if it'd be possible to
>disassemble my 2 Thinkpads and place the internals of the R51 into the
>R31 case. Does anyone have any opinions or other ideas? Thanks!
