a very timely question for me, since cingular is retiring my trusty rim 950
mobitex service and i am looking for a nice qwerty device. decidedly a
NON-WINDOWS-MOBILE device. email and messaging are most important,
voice next, everything else last. any personal experience (including
carriers) for someone in the NYC region would be great.

thanks so much,

If you want a PDA, get a Palm. It will be lower resolution, but it will be
a functional PDA with good battery life.

If you want a handheld computer, the ipaqs are tolerable.

I have both. I haven't taken the 640x480 ipaq off the shelf in months; I have
the Palm with me even if I'm just popping over to a fast food place for
snacks.
