It is the very first thing that is done right after a system restore
from the hidden partition (normal behavior). It cannot be reverted back
to FAT32 using any utilities in Windows XP. I believe you can use
Partition Magic (Symantec) to convert the drive back to FAT32. There
are advantages with NTFS such as security and compression that you will
not get from FAT32. There are tons of utilities that will allow you
access to your data regardless of file system.

Just turned on my new T43 and the first thing it converts FAT32 to NTFS
without
asking permission! Why? (This is a disaster for me since I can't
access the
drive with any of my utilities.)
What to do?
