I would like to add that we strongly believe it is better to stick with one
Router brand and model whenever possible. There a so many quirky little
problems with each of the 30 or so Routers I have had an opportunity to play
with over the years, that I am convinced it is better to know one brand and
as few models as possible. What you learn can save you time, and help you
deal with various issues... such as the LinkSys idea to setup a lot of
settings under "Auto" labels that nobody ever checks.
For this reason, we use Linksys for status-aware clients who want a big-name
brand, and Netgear for those which we are obligated to support.
Knowing the equipment you use as thoroughly as possible, is much more
important that knowing how to setup up 25 or 30 brands.
This doesn't help when we get called to help a new client... but it helps
enormously with clients whe have had for years.
