[Thinkpad] Lenovo Warranty problem - is this the new trend?

Shouldn't there be an original receipt/invoice from IBM/Lenovo that says 
what warranty it was sold with?  I would assume that would have come to 
you if you were the reseller or else to the original purchaser if this 
was a unit you sold as used.  If you can find that it should clear 
things up and be usable to convince Lenovo to honor the warranty.

Barring that panning out, isn't there someone at Lenovo in customer 
service that you can talk to in order to address the issue?  I don't 
know who that might be, but I'm sure someone here would.
