It depends on the thickness of the drive. All modern drives are 9mm,
but a lot of the older ones were 12mm. Depending on the thinkpad
you have, you might not be able to use a 12mm drive. If you have
a 'slim' ultrabay, you definitely need to use the 9mm drives.
The larger issue here is why you would be looking at these drives
at all. They're all older disks, used. If you data is worth anything
at all to you, its very advisable to get a new disk. Don't buy
something that might croak of old age at any time. There are new
drives for sale at Newegg.com: $47 for 20G, for example. Saving
$20 for a disk isn't worth it. Ram, yes, but not something with
moving parts.
