[Thinkpad] T41p goes brighter/looses contrast while booting

Another little problem. I am not totally happy with the screen of my T41p.
It seems that it does not sport the same good contrast then my old T30
whereas it is the same 14,1" 1400x1050 screen that I had before.

 

I noticed lately that once the Thinkpad boots up, the contrast looks fine
but shortly before it is ready to work with, it get's a bit brighter and
looses contrast. Sounds a little strange, hmm? Well what happens is.

 

-          I switch it on.

-          Windows Black Boot screen appears

-          LogIn screen appears

-          Desktop appears and then

-          Display gets a little brighter and looses contrast

 

The display light is always set at maximum. Anybody encountering the same?
Any workarounds for that?
