[Thinkpad] X31 keyboard problem?

Dear ThinkPad-ers,
  One of the professors here has a Thinkpad X31
that the enter key, shift, and a few other keys in the same area,
feel slightly "more loose" than all the other ones, and occasionally 
there is
no response from these keys when they are pressed. Anyone ever
hear of this particular problem? Thanks very much!  JD
