This is what I have tried, however this 765L assigns COM to COM5 if you use
IRQ 3 for it, and IRQ 4 for cardbus. It does the same as before, maybe the
drivers are mangled from previous installs which were not going to work
without the patches.
Also cardbus is enabled as it is needed for the Belkin USB card which works
flawlessly.
I think in all honesty the need for USB 2.0 is not there, unless you want
faster CD Writers, faster hard disks or so forth. Those kind of peripherals
I do not need, or I think the P166MMX may struggle with, such as a 44 speed
CDRW! I had/have (as I am selling) on my desktop a 4x4x24 CDRW from HP
(8210) and that has served me well so the need for faster again is no
imperative.
As such I have no need to get this card working as USB 1.1 works fine and is
all I need
However, I'm glad you got it to work on your system as it bodes well for
others! Maybe I'll tinker one day - but for now, if it ain't broke, why fix
it! :-)
