It eventually hit me what you were saying, I think, with the picture that you drew.
If I catch your drift, you're casting "Color" as a function (or a "partial function",
not always defined for every input) from a domain of things like {A, B, C, ...} to a
co-domain of things like {..., Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet, ...}.
This is certainly a construct that would be worth exploring for its own sake, but it's
a little higher up on the scale of complexity than I'm presently contemplating, in my
razor-like ockhamish way. We'll have to think about whether we can call, and whether
Peirce might have had in mind calling the function Color : Points -> Paints a part of
the comprehension of things like 'A' and things like 'Red'. But I can see how that
might be possible, just at first sight. Still, I will have to plod along with the
simpler interpretations first, until I can't see any way to make sense of them.
