AIR. Discussion Note 25

We obtained a denotation for the relative term "double of",
by considering the meanings of a corpus of absolute terms
of the form "double of k", for k = 1, 2, 3, ..., arriving
at the aggregation of ordered pairs that wew may write in
the form that Peirce wrote them, as 2:1 + 4:2 + 6:3 + etc.
Using the barred square-bracket notation "[|...|]" that's
currently in fashion to indicate the denotation of a term,
we may write 2* = [|"double of"|] = 2:1 + 4:2 + 6:3 + etc.
Observe that we have provided the term "double of" with a
semantic model in terms of its operational effects on the
sundry correlates 1, 2, 3, etc. I hope this rings a bell.
