TG: Not only a gradual shift from "subjects and predicates
as essentially different kinds of entities" to "terms
    that are categorized at the same level of syntax";
but also the elimination of middle terms, the
conceptual glue that held it all together.
To put it in terms of the Popper article
I've been looking at, such concepts used
to tie the descriptive facts of the minor
premise to the argumentative facts of the
conclusion. But alas, along with God,
    they seem to have died.

Tom,

We're talking logic, not 'rumeurs de mise'.
Nothing was lost, but lots were gained.
The spirit of apophansis suffuses the
logically significant expression as
much as it ever did, in fact, its
bond is reinvigorated with new
levels of generative power.
Nothing has been given up
but certain illusions of
local attribution as to
where the logos abides.
