hi tom,

yes, the term "inquiry" is well enough taken as a synonym for "scientific method",
but it helps to use the fuzzier word so as to include the consideration of things
like everyday reasoning, ethical/moral inquiry, aesthetic inquiry, ..., that is,
any area where one may have questions and need a way of addressing them. also,
the term "method" will sometimes inflame anarchists of the feyerabend brand to
question whether there really is, can be, ought to be such a method, and that
question is legitimate, too, falling under the head of "inquiry into inquiry".
this particular collab will maintain a focus on computable models of inquiry
and software tools for supporting it, so it is good to keep the "comp" in.

i thought of upping it to "gmane.inquiry",
but then i thought that people might read
that as a faq space. what do you think?

jon

PS. I did not find "gmane.discuss.subscribe". Is that a new one?
