NB.  I have just discovered that some listservers interpret the word "sign"
appearing first in a subject line as some type of subscription command and
consequently balk at its appeareance in the context of an ordinary message,
so I am changing the title of this thread to "Manifolds Of Signs" (MOS).
I hope no hardware types are upset by that.  ~~  Jon Awbrey
